Red Arrow Studios International has secured a raft of deals for two of its premium drama titles Blackout – Tomorrow is Too Late (6 x 45’) and Departure (12 x 45’).

The ambitious international thriller Blackout – Tomorrow is Too Late, starring Moritz Bleibtreu (The Baader Meinhof Complex) and Marie Leuenberger (The Divine Order), has been picked up by Mediawan Rights for French-speaking Europe, Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, and HBO Nordic for a whole host of territories, including the Nordics, Iberia, Central & Eastern Europe and the Netherlands. The series is produced by W&B Television (The Lives of Others, Dark) for Joyn and SAT.1 in Germany.

Seasons one and two of the award-winning, high-octane conspiracy thriller Departure, have been acquired by RAI for RAI4 in Italy and The Walt Disney Company for FOXCRIME in Turkey. Asiaplay has also picked up the show’s second season for Catchplay+ in Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore, following its previous acquisition of season one. Departure has already been sold to broadcasters including Channel 5 and Sky (UK), Peacock/Universal (US), M6 Group (France), ViacomCBS’s Paramount+ (Latin America) and NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) for Europe and Africa.

Seasons one and two boast an A-list cast, which includes Emmy award-winner Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), Kris Holden-Ried (Clarice), Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle) and the late Christopher Plummer (Knives Out) in his final TV role.

Season three of Departure has recently completed production and will be available in Fall 2022. Joining Archie Panjabi and Kris Holden-Ried in this third season are Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) and Jake Weber (American Gothic).

About Blackout – Tomorrow is Too Late:

On a cold November night, a fatal chain reaction in the European power grid plunges the continent into darkness. While the authorities fight to control the impact of the blackout, one man in Italy, former hacker Pierre Manzano (Moritz Bleibtreu), realises that a malicious code he wrote nearly 20 years ago during the 2001 G8 riots is to blame.

In Germany, Frauke Michelsen (Marie Leuenberger) suddenly finds herself heading the country’s crisis response team, battling with failed communication systems, the threat of food shortages and the collapse of the health system. But when her eight-year-old twin daughters go missing, she is torn between managing the spiralling incidents and her own personal challenges.

The show’s first instalment centres on the mystery of Flight 716 – a passenger plane that vanishes over the Atlantic Ocean. Following the mysterious crash, recently widowed, brilliant aviation investigator Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) is called in to investigate by her former boss and mentor Howard Lawson (Christopher Plummer). With the whole world watching, Kendra and her team race to pinpoint the missing aircraft and locate possible survivors. They must battle through a host of suspects and motives to determine what really happened to Flight 716 – and to stop it from happening again.

In season two, Kendra Malley is recruited to the US by the Federal Transportation Safety Authority (FTSA) to investigate the crash of an experimental high-speed train, The Apollo, in rural Michigan. Working in conjunction with the FBI, Kendra must race to uncover the truth behind the crash and help to heal the damage caused by the terrible tragedy.
