A new local adaptation of Stranded on Honeymoon Island has proved a strong performer for Czech Republic’s FTV Prima.

The format launched on the broadcaster’s new SVOD platform, Prima+ on August 19 – ranking as the No 1 show on the platform by video views since launch. Stranded on Honeymoon Island premiered FTV Prima a week later, attracting an average 12% market share for the first four episodes in the key target group of younger viewers (15-54) – above channel average.

The format, which sees couples matched by experts marooned on a deserted island and left to fend for themselves for three weeks, was initially commissioned by VTM in Belgium, where two seasons have already aired. It has also aired in Portugal (SIC) RTL Netherlands, Czech Republic (FTV Prima) and Germany (SAT.1). Forthcoming adaptations are set to air on BBC One in the UK, Seven Network in Australia, and Max in Sweden and Denmark.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island was created by Snowman Productions, the creators of dating phenomenon Married at First Sight. The format is internationally distributed by Seven. One Studios International.
