“Safety First” will hit Dutch screens as broadcaster RTL has picked up the Belgian version of the comedy series. Created by Tim van Aelst, the comic mastermind behind Rose D’Or-winning “What If?” and Emmy Award-winning “Benidorm Bastards”, “Safety First” was a ratings hit on Belgium’s VTM, outperforming its channel average by up to 63% in its first season. A second season will go on air from 29thOctober 2014. The series has won several awards: the prestigious “de Ha! van Humo” award for TV program of the year 2013 in Belgium, Televisiester for best comedy, a Golden Intermedia Globe at the WorldMediaFestival 2014 for best sitcom; and it was also nominated as best sitcom at Banff in Canada
