Denmark’s public broadcaster DR has commissioned Snowman Productions to produce brand new factual entertainment series Secrets at the Museum (Skattejagt på museet).
The series premieres on Sunday January 10 at 8pm on DR1.
In the show, two celebrities go on a treasure hunt within the archives of a famous museum, to unlock its hidden treasures and create their own exclusive exhibition for the public.
Usually only a small fraction of a museum’s treasures are on display, and the celebrities have a free hand in creating their unique exhibition, hoping to find answers to some of our biggest questions.
The series includes a visit to Denmark’s State Natural History Museum, on an adventure amongst extinct dinosaurs, poisonous snakes and old whales, to find out: How did we get here? Why do we look like this? And where are we – and the earth – going?
The news follows DR picking up Maden flytter ind (The Food Moves In) from Snowman – based on the hit format Meat the Family – which premiered in November on DR1.
Snowman also produce the hit social experiment Married at First Sight for DR, which is now in its sixth season, and sold to 30 countries worldwide.
Snowman recently produced new adventure format Klædt af mod toppen med familien Wozniacki for Discovery Network Denmark, launched internationally as How to Become Superhuman.
Other Snowman credits include Buying Blind and Kiss Bang Love (TV3 Denmark); A League of Their Own (Kanal 5); and comedy show Menneskekender (TV2 Zulu; international title: How Dare You!).The company also launched its own international format development label, Snowman Global, last year.
The formats for Married at First Sight, Meat the Family and How to Become Superhuman are all distributed worldwide by Red Arrow Studios International.
