Framing Britney Spears, the high-profile event documentary produced by The New York Times and Left/Right, and distributed by Red Arrow Studios International, is the most watched foreign program on Denmark’s TV2 PLAY ever, and the foreign production that has sold the greatest number of new subscriptions to the service.
“We are positively surprised that a foreign documentary manages to be at the very top of the most watched factual content on our service,” said Sune Roland, content manager for TV 2 PLAY. “Framing Britney Spears is up and mingling with the biggest Danish documentaries from our main channel.”
The feature-length documentary, that examines the pop star’s court battle for control of her estate and addresses the media’s handling of one of the biggest pop stars of all time, has captured the zeitgeist, generating huge media coverage and social media buzz around the world.
It forms part of Red Arrow Studios International’s The Weekly: Special Edition collection of eight premium standalone documentaries, which are driven by the unparalleled journalism and insight of The New York Times. Branded as The New York Times Presents in the US, the collection is produced by The New York Times and Left/Right for FX and Hulu.
