The final episode of Married at First Sight Season Eight in Australia, which aired on Sunday, April 18, was the highest rated show of 2021 to date, generating a huge 56% share for Nine across all key demos, helping the braodcaster achieve a record-breaking first quarter.
Nine program director Hamish Turner said: “Across both the 9Network’s linear channels and 9Now, we have seen Married again capture the national conversation in a way no other Australian TV show does.”

In Australia, eight of the top ten rating programs of the quarter were episodes of Married at First Sight, with an average of almost two million viewers watching each episode across broadcast television and on 9Now. The hit dating show is also the No 1 catch up program in Australia. To date, over 520 million minutes of long form catchup content has been streamed, times times bigger than its nearest competitor (The Amazing Race Australia)
