Red Arrow International has sold rights to its hit home-makeover format “House Rules” to SBS in the Netherlands. Produced by Skyhigh TV, eleven episodes will be aired on Net5 this fall.
“House Rules” features five couples putting their homes on the line for a life-changing prize: two years payment of their mortgage. Originally created and produced by Seven Network Operations for Seven Network in Australia, “House Rules” has just started airing in a third season on Seven. Season two was a ratings smash, beating “The Voice” and attracting multiple sponsors.
Ana Henriques, Channel Manager Net5 says “‘House Rules’ is a distinctive format in the many home-makeover formats that exist. We are excited to broadcast the Dutch remake.”
Tim Gerhartz, VP Sales and Acquisitions, UK, Scandinavia, Benelux at Red Arrow International says “I am delighted that SBS has picked up the show for the Netherlands. ‘House Rules’ is not only a highly emotive show but also a great opportunity for networks to work with sponsorship partners and integrate second screen and social media seamlessly into the show.”
About “House Rules”
Five couples put their most important possession – their homes – on the line, for a huge, life-changing prize. Travelling across the country, each week one couple hands over the keys of their home to their competitors, to transform every room in their house in seven days – in any way they want.
Each homeowner issues their own set of “House Rules” – a list of do’s and don’ts. But rules are meant to be broken! How far can each team go to transform their homes? Will the teams return to a dream house – or to their worst nightmare?
A group of home professionals and the homeowners judge the results, and following a tense finale, the home renovation winners are crowned.
