Red Arrow International’s award-winning Icelandic crime drama “Case” (9 x 1 hour) has been acquired by Channel 4’s Walter Presents in the UK.
Walter Presents is the new VOD service from the UK’s Channel 4 and Global Series Network, and is part of its All 4 OTT platform. Curated by Walter Iuzzolino, Walter Presents specializes in selecting high-quality foreign-language drama and comedy.
The deal also sees Scandi comedy drama “Hellfjord” (7 x half hour) written and produced by Tommy Wirkola (“Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters”, “Dead Snow”), picked up by Walter Presents.
In other “Case” news, the show has also been sold to HBO Europe, in a deal which covers territories including Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Produced by Sagafilm for Channel 2 Iceland, “Case” is the latest drama from acclaimed Icelandic director Baldvin Z (“Trapped”, “Life in a Fishbowl”) and stars Magnús Jónsson, Jóhanna Vigdís Arnardóttir and Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir. The Icelandic noir series is written by Andri Óttarsson and Þorleifur Örn Arnarson.
Henrik Pabst, Managing Director of Red Arrow International, said: “We are delighted that ‘Case’ has been picked up for the UK and CEE by Walter Presents and HBO Europe. These are platforms that perfectly align with the kind of intelligent, challenging and thrilling drama coming out of Iceland.”
Earlier this year Red Arrow sold “Married at First Sight USA” (45 x 1 hour plus specials) to Channel 4’s All 4, in a deal that was the first stand-alone acquisition for the OTT platform since it launched in March 2015.
