Seven. One Studios International is heading to this year’s MIPCOM with a strong slate of high-profile new and returning shows, spanning scripted, formats and factual.
Leading the scripted lineup is the eagerly awaited season 4 of Vienna Blood (2 x 90’ or 4 x 45’), the thrilling crime drama set in 1900s Vienna, from acclaimed screenwriter Steve Thompson, produced by Endor Productions and MR Film, for ORF (Austria) and ZDF (Germany). The compelling, fan-favorite series, starring Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer, returned to BBC Two in the UK earlier this year to critical acclaim.
Other returning premium dramas include The Gone (6 x 60’) – the dark and intense mystery drama which is back for a gripping second season. Produced by Kingfisher Films & Keeper Pictures in association with Southern Light Films, the celebrated series features a diverse cast led by Richard Flood and Acushla-Tara Kupe. High-concept psychological drama Plan B (6 x 45’) is also back for its sophomore season, produced by KOTV for CBC (Canada).
Debuting at the market is raucous new comedy series Player of Ibiza (5 x 25’) which had its world premiere at Series Mania earlier this year. Produced by Pyjama Pictures and Kleine Brüder – the prolific creators behind hit comedy Die Discounter – in coproduction with NDR, the mockumentary takes viewers on a riotous ride through the underbelly of reality TV, sexism and the fragile male ego.
Seven. One Studios International’s unscripted show roster features the fun and accessible new format Love Costs, the dating show where true love and cunning deceit collide, produced by Minoria Absoluta and Televisió de Catalunya – CCMA SA for 3Cat and TV3 (Spain). While groundbreaking new documentary If Pigs Could Talk (1 x 60’ or 1 x 75’) – produced by Snowman Productions for ARD/NDR (Germany), DR (Denmark), RTS (Switzerland), NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden) – unlocks the language of pigs using AI, to reveal the hidden emotions and ethics of pig farming. Also featured is high-volume, horizon-expanding factual series Galileo X-Plorer (32 x 50’) – the newest addition to the Galileo universe, the world’s most successful, long-running science-tainment magazine show, which has aired in over 30 countries.
Rounding out the slate are hit reality-competition series Claim to Fame (10 x 45’), where hosts Kevin and Frankie Jonas return for a third season of this addictive cat and mouse game; BAFTA-winning series Rob & Romesh Vs (16 x 50′), following British comedians and friends Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, as they dive into unfamiliar worlds of sports and arts – helped by some legends from each field; and A League of Their Own: Road Trip (12 x 45’), the hit spinoff to the BAFTA-winning A League of Their Own, that sees its stars embark on epic adventures around the globe, facing off in wild challenges along the way. Both series are produced by CPL Productions for Sky (UK).
