The season two premiere of the hit primetime quiz show Stealing the Show! (local title: Wer stiehlt mir die Show?), dominated the primetime schedules in Germany when it aired on ProSieben at 8.15pm on Tuesday, July 13, posting an outstanding 17.3% market share (14-49 years). In the young target group of 14-to-39-year-olds, the show fared even better, posting a 23.2% market share. A total of 4.37 million viewers tuned in, helping ProSieben to win the day with a very strong 11% (14-49 years) average share.
Stealing the Show!, produced by Florida Entertainment (Beat the Channel), completely reinvents the traditional quiz show format by offering three celebrity contestants and a member of the public the chance to literally steal the show and take control of the next episode as quiz master.
The host (Joko Winterscheidt in the German version) fires fun and outrageous questions at the contestants in an attempt to avoid losing control of their own show. After each round, the losing contestant leaves, until only one is left to go head to head with the host in the nail biting finale. Winning the show means in the next episode they get to become the quiz master, deciding everything from the theme and tone of the show, to the rules of the game. But the panel of contestants includes the previous, defeated host. Will they be able to steal back their show, or will another new quiz master be crowned?
