Commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has secured remake rights to Red Arrow International’s “Escape Your Life” for Germany. Redseven Entertainment will produce. “Escape Your Life” is an extraordinary experiment in which couples are offered the opportunity to escape their old lives and start again. In the US, TNT has also recently secured rights to “Escape your Life.”
Tobias Schulze, Senior Sales Manager German-Speaking Countries for Red Arrow International says: “First the US, now Germany! I’m thrilled with the news of a German version. Our reality formats are proving a hit all over the world and I am positive “Escape Your Life” will cater to the global appetite for authentic reality formats.”
Escape Your Life
The experiment unfolds over a dramatic multi-episode series arc, following three couples who are each offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to escape their lives and start again. The couples awaken in a completely new location. Each couple then has 6 weeks to find new jobs, a place to live and to start their new lives. They’ll make new friends and discover exciting things but is a new life truly the answer to all their problems? At the end of the series, each couple will be given a choice: to go back to their old lives or stay in their new ones. If they choose to stay, they’ll be given money to help continue to build their new lives, but there’s one condition: they can never go back.
