Chris Coelen, founder and CEO of acclaimed US production company Kinetic Content, has agreed to a multi-year extension of his contract.

Following the majority acquisition of Kinetic Content by Red Arrow Studios in 2010, the Los Angeles based company has grown to become one of the most successful and prolific unscripted TV production companies in the US.

To date, Kinetic Content has produced thousands of hours of unscripted TV programming across multiple genres, including factual entertainment, formats and lifestyle. Now, with new programs in the works across a range of platforms including Netflix, Amazon, ABC, Fox, Lifetime, Discovery, A&E, Bravo and History, Kinetic has recently expanded its development and production teams.

In addition, as part of Kinetic’s ambitious growth plans, Coelen will begin work immediately with colleagues at Red Arrow Studios to launch a significant venture developing and producing scripted projects for the US and international market. The company is currently in the process of hiring staff including a head of scripted development and production.

Chris Coelen, CEO of Kinetic Content, said: “I’m thrilled to continue working with the immensely talented teams at Kinetic, Red Arrow and ProSiebenSat.1 – it’s an incredibly exciting time to be a storyteller in the unscripted landscape.”

He continued: “I am also delighted to be announcing our new scripted venture. After setting up scripted shows for many years as both an agent and during my time running RDF USA, I am excited to bring the same deliberative approach and passion for story we have exhibited in unscripted, into scripted.”

James Baker, President & Co-CEO at Red Arrow Studios said: “Chris Coelen has grown Kinetic Content, the company he started, into a major US production house, with a portfolio of successful program brands. I am delighted that Chris has decided to stay with Kinetic and Red Arrow to take the business to even greater heights, and realize his ambitious growth plans – including opening a new scripted division. Chris has proved to be a superb partner within our group and we look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Led by founder and CEO Chris Coelen (Wife Swap, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Secret Millionaire), Kinetic’s highlights include nine seasons of Critic’s Choice award-winning Married at First Sight (Lifetime); the Little Women franchise including eight seasons of Little Women: LA and five seasons of Little Women: Atlanta (Lifetime); international breakouts Buying It Blind (Bravo) and Seven Year Switch (Lifetime); and recently announced new Bravo commission Spy Games. They have produced multiple shows for all major US networks including ABC and NBC.
