Multi award-winning series Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds, produced by CPL Productions for Channel 4 UK, has been shortlisted for Best Constructed Documentary Series at this year’s Grierson Awards.
Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds is a revolutionary social experiment that attempts to dramatically improve the health and well-being of elderly people in retirement communities, by bringing them together with a group of four-year-old pre-school children. The program was a huge ratings hit for Channel 4 in the UK, returning in December for a Christmas special and now commissioned for a second season.
The Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds format has won a number of international awards including Best Original Programme at the Broadcast Awards, Best Popular Factual Series at the Edinburgh TV Awards, and Best Factual Entertainment and Best Brand Driven Format at the International Format Awards. It was also nominated for a 2018 BAFTA award.
The prestigious Grierson Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony London on Monday 5 November 2018.
