There’s Something About Movies produced by CPL Productions is confirmed to return to screens for its third season on Thursday, October 22 on Sky One and NOW TV.
Alan Carr returns as the host of the hilarious quiz show that features a feast of film trivia, movie insights and infamous re-enactments. Jennifer Saunders and Michael Sheen also return as team captains, joined by actor and comedian Tom Allen, and a myriad of stars from the big screen and guests from the world of entertainment.
The series begins with Gemma Arterton as the first celebrity panellist, followed by Kelly MacDonald and Daniel Mays, Nick Frost, Nick Mohammed, Stephen Graham, Guz Khan, Mo Gilligan, Rob Beckett, and for the final episode in the series, Jennifer will be reunited with the one and only Joanna Lumley.
Alan Carr said: “Not only am I really excited to be able to leave the house but also I am buzzing to get started on series 3 of There’s Something About Movies, boy have I missed mucking around with Tom Allen, Jennifer Saunders and Michael Sheen and although going to the cinema seems like a distant memory, we will be doing our best to recreate some of the movie magic that we’ve all been missing this summer. Bring it on!”
Fan-favourite end games, where the celebrity panels are challenged to re-create iconic scenes from the big screen, will make a welcome return including The Wizard of Oz, The Wolf of Wall Street and Toy Story. Episode six of the series will also be the show’s first ever Christmas Special and will air during the 2020 festive period.
The safety and well-being of cast, production teams and all those involved with the series is the top priority, while production company CPL and Sky are working to keep the show as close to the original format as possible within current government guidelines.
There’s Something About Movies is commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts and Head of Entertainment. The Commissioning Editor is Barbara Lee. The Executive Producers for CPL Productions, a Red Arrow Studios company, are David Taylor, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux, and the Executive Producer for Motion Content Group is Martin Oxley.
There’s Something About Movies was recommissioned by Sky earlier this summer, alongside BAFTA-winning entertainment show A League of Their Own in a new three-season deal – both are produced by CPL Productions.
