North American Premiere & Opening Film at Fantasia Film Festival on July 12.
Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired all US rights to Just a Breath Away from director Daniel Roby. The film stars Romain Duris (All the Money in the World) and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) as parents who must save their daughter from a deadly toxic mist racing through Paris. The film will be released in theaters in 2019.
Just a Breath Away follows parents Mathieu (Duris) and Anna (Kurylenko), who are desperately trying to save their daughter from a deadly toxic mist that has engulfed Paris. The city of lights is hit by an earthquake that fills the streets with a mysterious gas. Only those lucky enough to escape to the rooftops of the city were able to survive. Mathieu and Anna must face the fog if they have any hope of saving their daughter, who is trapped below.
Director, Daniel Roby commented, “I’m so happy the movie will reach the American public through Gravitas! I directed this for the French market but the story is universal, the backdrop is exotic and never seen before in a movie like this. I hope the heart wrenching dilemmas this family, in survival mode, is facing will captivate audiences all over the US.”
“This is a thrilling story of survival, set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic Paris. We are very excited to be partnering with the filmmaking team behind Just a Breath Away,” said Tony Piantedosi, Director of Acquisitions at Gravitas Ventures.
Piantedosi negotiated the deal with Aurelia Tahar, VP of International Sales at TF1 Studio. The international sales company sold the film worldwide in more than 131 territories.
