Season 7 launches with highest ratings ever
Married at First Sight has been named Australia’s most popular non-sports program of 2019.
Australian TV ratings organization OzTAM has released its consolidated ratings report for 2019, confirming that Married at First Sight on Nine Network is the country’s Number One most popular television show.
The Married at First Sight finale drew 2.1 million viewers in Australia, ahead of Nine’s The Block finale (2 million) and Lego Masters finale (1.8 million).
A further four episodes featured in the year’s Top 20, underlining the relationship show’s dominance on Australian TV.
Married at First Sight Season 7 also enjoyed its largest ever launch on Monday night, with 1.154m metro viewers tuning in to the reality dating format on Nine Network. In 2019 1.003m tuned in, 912,000 watched 2018’s premiere, 820,000 2017’s and the closest rival is 2015’s 1.134m premiere.
The new season premiere also dominated all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – sitting in the top spot for all three.
Married at First Sight was also the most-watched program on Monday, delivering Nine a 25.8% primary channel audience share and 31.8% as a network.
Created by Danish producer Snowman Productions, the Married at First Sight format has been produced in 29 markets, including the US where it is currently in its 10th season produced by Kinetic Content. Married at First Sight is distributed worldwide by Red Arrow Studios International.
