Elsewhere, Samsung TV Plus in Germany launched a dedicated Married at First Sight FAST channel this month – a continuation of their longstanding partnership with Seven. One Studios International – which will air Married at First Sight seasons from Australia, UK and Germany, 24/7. This follows the successful launch of 9Network’s in Australia’s FAST channel last year.
Seven. One Studios International continues to build the franchise’s footprint with new spinoffs. ProSiebenSat.1’s streaming platform Joyn has ordered Married at Second Sight, a fresh adaptation targeting a younger audience, in which twelve single strangers first meet at their engagement ceremony, and three weeks later decide whether to say “I do” to marriage! Produced by Redseven Entertainment, this new iteration adds a novel twist to the original concept. Additionally, Married at First Sight has been recommissioned for its twelfth season, set to air later this year on SAT.1.
Across Europe, broadcasters are also doubling down on the format’s success. In France, M6 is set to launch a new international adaptation of Married at First Sight: Second Chances (10 x 45’; local title: Mariés au premier regard: Nouveau rendez-vous avec l’amour), originally produced by Kinetic Content for Lifetime (US). The spinoff gives past participants another shot at love. The new spinoff launched on the network this Spring, following the ninth season of the flagship series, which, and companion series Married at First Sight Life After (4 x 45’).
Israel’s Keshet Channel 12 has commissioned new spinoff Married at First Sight: Last Resort, which follows singles on a final stab at finding love—whether they are divorcees, widows, or widowers — with the help of Married at First Sight experts. Produced by July August Productions, a Seven. One Studios company, the series is set to premiere later this year. The original Israeli adaptation continues to break viewership records and has already been renewed for an eighth season, produced by Gil Productions.
The Married at First Sight franchise remains a powerhouse for international broadcasters and has recently secured a new home in the US with Peacock. The streamer has signed a multi-year deal beginning with season 19, which will be produced by Kinetic Content.
Other markets are also showing long-term commitment to the format. Warner Bros Discovery Italy has renewed the local adaptation of Married at First Sight for four seasons, with two seasons produced annually through 2025 and 2026. In Portugal, SIC has ordered a fifth season, produced by Shine Iberia. Meanwhile, RTL in the Netherlands has commissioned a new season; and Belgium’s DPG has commissioned a new season and acquired versions from New Zealand, the UK, and Australia.
Tim Gerhartz, Managing Director at Seven. One Studios International, commented on the format’s continued expansion: “The global success of Married at First Sight is unparalleled. Broadcasters and platforms worldwide recognize its unique ability to captivate audiences, spark conversation, and deliver consistent ratings. With new spinoffs, fresh adaptations, and long-term renewals, the franchise remains stronger than ever. We are thrilled to see its ongoing evolution across multiple media and markets.”
