Melissa Aouate, President of Red Arrow Studios’ Los Angeles scripted production company Fabrik Entertainment, has been promoted to Partner. The announcement was made today by Henrik Bastin, CEO/Partner at Fabrik Entertainment.

“Since joining Fabrik in 2014, Melissa has helped to define and execute the company’s creative vision across both development and production,” said Mr. Bastin, a Swedish ex pat and executive producer whose credits include Bosch (Amazon Prime), American Odyssey (NBC), and The Comedians (FX). “I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Melissa as a deeply valued Partner as we continue to grow.”

“In my previous role as a literary agent at ICM, I had the opportunity to represent amazing screenwriters and novelists,” said Ms. Aouate. “The moment I joined Henrik and Fabrik I knew I was coming to a company which loves and respects creatives. That’s such a gift for an executive.”

Added Aouate: “At Fabrik we actively embrace the international landscape of talent. We see an unlimited potential for new stories, new storytellers and compelling properties and we don’t have any preconceived notions about where those stories might originate. We live in a golden time for television and I am honored to be a Partner at a company committed to quality work.”

“We are delighted that Melissa has been promoted to Partner at Fabrik during this exciting time of growth for their company,” said James Baker, President & COO of Red Arrow Studios, the parent company of Fabrik Entertainment. “Our partnership with Fabrik has helped put Red Arrow on the Scripted map in the US, and we value having such talented execs as Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate at the helm of the business.”

Fabrik Entertainment is a leader in the television streaming landscape, producing the huge Amazon hit series Bosch, which launched its fifth season on April 19 and has been renewed for a sixth season. Recently, Fabrik sold the series Interrogation to CBS All Access. Produced by Fabrik and CBS Television Studios, the series is based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years, in which a young man was charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. Each episode is structured around an interrogation taken directly from the real police case files. The first nine episodes of the series will be available to watch in any order, and the conclusive season finale will be released at a later date.

Prior to her tenure as a literary agent at ICM, Ms. Aouate was an executive at Robert Zemeckis’ production company where she worked on the feature films Flight starring Denzel Washington, Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman, five of the animated/motion capture films Zemeckis directed, including Polar Express, starring Tom Hanks, and Beowulf, as well as the Fox Television Studios and Showtime original series The Borgias.
