Mark Burnett’s One Three Media has teamed up with production and distribution company Red Arrow Entertainment to launch a joint production company based in London working with CPL Productions. The new company will focus on bringing One Three Media’s American formats to the UK as well as developing original content. Under the deal, Red Arrow’s UK production partner, CPL, will support the growth of the new venture creating a production partnership with One Three Media UK to provide strategic, production and administrative support.

“As I grew up in the UK, I am always looking at the best way to do more business here and when the opportunity came up with Red Arrow it just made sense.” said Mark Burnett, President and Founder of One Three Media. “We have partnered with Red Arrow’s CPL on several projects in the past. They are very similar to us in their commitment to providing quality content with unparalleled execution. It’s a great partnership,”

Jan Frouman, Managing Director of Red Arrow Entertainment Group said: “We have known and had enormous respect for the One Three Media team for years. And, clearly, Mark Burnett is one of the premier creators and producers of our time. Partnering in the UK feels like an incredibly smart and effective way to build on the working relationships we’ve established – as well as the collective strengths of our two groups.”

This will be the second company in the UK for Burnett. He and his wife Roma Downey’s Lightworkers Media subsidiary company is based in London. They produced the Emmy nominated epic miniseries, The Bible and the upcoming feature length film for 20th Century Fox Son of God. One Three Media’s series The Apprentice continues to dominate in the ratings on the UK’s BBC1 channel and the show is currently casting in the UK for season 10; and Burnett is also a native of London. Setting up a London-based production unit is a natural fit for Burnett and this strategic partnership will allow One Three Media to secure a stronger foothold in the European market.

One Three Media UK will operate out of CPL’s London offices and is scheduled to open its doors in January 2014.

The deal was announced today by C. Scot Cru, SVP of International Distribution and Production for One Three Media, and Jan Frouman, Group Managing Director of Red Arrow Entertainment.

“We’ve had a great relationship with UK broadcasters with big franchise shows like The Apprentice. By having dedicated local staff, we’ll be able to further our commitment to providing UK broadcasters original content that is suited to their needs,” said C. Scot Cru, SVP of International Distribution and Production at One Three Media, who brokered the deal with Red Arrow.

One Three Media UK plans to announce a head of the company in January.
