Red Arrow Studios International has acquired the global distribution rights to a pair of new drama titles – Kid Sister (5 x 30’), a hilarious coming-of-age comedy series from New Zealand-based production company Greenstone TV and Summer Love (8 x 30’), an enchanting anthology series from Australian producer Gristmill. The titles will headline the company’s MIPCOM scripted slate, which will also feature the upcoming third season of thrilling crime drama Vienna Blood (S3: 3 x 90’ or 6 x 45’, total: 9 x 90’ or 18 x 45’).

Kid Sister is created by Simone Nathan (Our Flag Means Death) who also stars as lead character ‘Lulu’. The series launched on TVNZ On Demand in New Zealand earlier this year.

Lulu is a young Kiwi woman in her prime but in the Jewish world she is careening towards spinsterhood. Now on the verge of 30, her parents’ attempts at pushing her off the shelf into the arms of a Nice Jewish Boy leave her clinging on for dear life. On top of that, Lulu has just found out she’s pregnant by her on-again off-again very non-Jewish boyfriend, Ollie. As Lulu digs herself deeper and deeper into a “shituation”, she is forced to face the question she’s been avoiding her entire adult life: how can she do what she wants while also making everyone else happy?

Created and directed by the award-winning comedy writers Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope (Upper Middle Bogan, Little Lunch), anthology series Summer Love is produced by Gristmill for ABC (Australia) and sees eight very different sets of people rent the same beachside holiday house, where they experience some incarnation of love. Stories featured in the anthology include two couples who discover their friendship has reached its expiry date, a gay couple who are forced to confront societal expectations versus what they really want, and sisters who take time out to recharge but somehow manage to bring the chaos of their lives with them.

Produced by Endor Productions and MR Film for ZDF (Germany) and ORF (Austria), Vienna Blood, set in 1900s Vienna,is adapted by acclaimed screenwriter Steve Thompson (Deep State, Jericho, Sherlock) and is based on the bestselling novels by Frank Tallis.

Filmed in English and on location in Vienna and Budapest, season three is directed by Academy Award and Emmy nominee Robert Dornhelm (Anne Frank: The Whole Story), with Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game, Dracula) starring as Max Liebermann, and Juergen Maurer (Vorstadtweiber, Tatort) as Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt.

Licensed to over 100 territories, including the UK (BBC), US (PBS), France (France 3) and Spain (Movistar), Vienna Blood has been a hit around the world. In the UK, the premiere of the second season was one of BBC Two’s top performing dramas of the year, while in France it was the No.1 show of the night, garnering a 14.6% share for France 3. In Austria, it delivered a huge 25% share for ORF and in Germany posted a market share of 12.3%, with high online viewing figures.
