Red Arrow International has secured the rights to Denmark’s biggest new format, “Real Men”. The deal includes global format and finished tape rights outside of Denmark.

Produced by Fjernsynsforeningen, the show rated over 80% above the channel’s slot average on Denmark’s main channel DR1, and was watched by over half of the TV population in January and February 2015.

In “Real Men”, five everyday guys embark upon the ultimate health transformation journey.

Marianne Albeck, Founder and Partner at Fjernsynsforeningen says: “We’re very excited to pair up with Red Arrow on “Real Men” and look forward to seeing the format travel internationally.”

Harry Gamsu, VP Format Acquisitions at Red Arrow International says: “‘Real Men’ has been an absolute sensation in Denmark and I’m really excited we can now take this show out to international broadcasters. The Danish version is hilarious – it’s a lot of fun, with great sportsmanship and camaraderie, and shows that some stereotypes about men really are true! Full of universal themes, this format perfectly complements our pre-existing slate of ‘real reality’ formats like ‘Married At First Sight’ and I’m confident it too can find similar success the world over.”

About “Real Men”

Real Men never worry about their weight and are proud of their lazy lifestyles and unhealthy habits – but this is at the expense of their own health.

In this hit format five charismatic men – all of whom have regular jobs and families – are put on an intense training regime to improve their health. Over five months the contestants must take part in physical challenges ranging from swimming to meditation and martial arts.

The series culminates with a grueling mixed outdoor event, which will push the men to their physical and mental limits. Coming together as friends and uniting a nation behind them, these real men are determined to change their lives for the better and have a lot of fun along the way.
