Hit new format “Real Men” from Red Arrow International has been picked up by production companies in Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Finland.

Launching for the first time at MIPTV 2015, Warner Bros. International Television Production has secured “Real Men” production rights for Belgium and the Netherlands, with FremantleMedia Finland picking up rights to their territory, alongside Nordisk Film TV, a Banijay group company, for Sweden.

Based on the hit Danish format produced by Fjernsynsforeningen, “Real Men” sees five everyday guys embark upon the ultimate health transformation journey.

The show recently aired on DR1 Denmark and rated over 80% above the channel slot average, with over half of the Danish TV population watching the show.

Tim Gerhartz, VP Sales and Acquisitions UK, Scandinavia and Benelux at Red Arrow International, says: “We are delighted that “Real Men” has found these great partners as we launch the format for the first time. What ‘Married at First Sight’ did for dating, ‘Real Men’ does for the weight loss genre, opening the genre up to a much broader audience.”

About “Real Men”

Real Men never worry about their weight and are proud of their lazy lifestyles and unhealthy habits – but this is at the expense of their own health.

In this hit format five charismatic men – all of whom have regular jobs and families – are put on an intense training regime to improve their health. Over five months the contestants must take part in physical challenges ranging from swimming to meditation and martial arts.

The series culminates with a grueling mixed outdoor event, which will push the men to their physical and mental limits. Coming together as friends and uniting a nation behind them, these real men are determined to change their lives for the better and have a lot of fun along the way.

Format created and produced by Fjernsynsforeningen in coproduction with DR.
