Red Arrow Studios International today announces a new partnership with leading Finnish production company Yellow Film & TV that will see it distribute three scripted series: Forgiven, 66 North Precinct and The Laws of Man.

Based on Laura Manninen’s bestselling, semiautobiographical novel (Kaikki Anteeksi), Forgiven (4 x 60’) is a darkly tragic series about love, domestic violence, shame and the culture of silence that keeps such stories behind closed doors. The powerful and timely Elisa Viihde original series was written by Antti Heikki Pesonen and launched in Finland on November 13, 2023 – the commissioner recently highlighted the series as part of Göteborg Film Festival’s TV Drama Vision.

Set in Lapland, in the world’s largest police precinct and inspired by true crimes from the region, 66 North Precinct (8 x 60’) follows ex world champion boxer turned detective inspector, Maria Pudas, as she solves cases all over the unforgiving yet beautiful landscape with the help of her partner Samu. Produced by Yellow Film & TV Oy for YLE (Finland) and written by Timo Varpio, Tiina Tanskanen and Juha Karvanen, the series had a successful premiere in March 2023 and was also a hit on YLE Areena, attracting 4 million views within the first three months, making it one of YLE’s Areena top shows of the quarter. 66 North Precinct has already been recommissioned for a second season.

Gripping legal drama The Laws of Man (16 x 60’) set in and around courtrooms and two very different law offices in Helsinki – that weaves fascinating cases, comical human stories and contemporary societal issues with a compelling story about family and marriage. Two seasons have been written by Juha Karvanen and produced for Elisa Viihde, with a third now commissioned.

Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia, Red Arrow Studios International VP, Scripted Acquisitions and Coproductions said: “We’re thrilled to announce this exciting new partnership with one of the most successful, renowned producers in the Nordics. We’re delighted to be working with the Yellow Film team – it is truly a creative powerhouse, as can be attested to by the breadth and quality of these scripted series, which are a perfect addition to our catalog of premium scripted content.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Red Arrow and see great potential in these titles with Rodrigo leading the sales efforts. Yellow Film & TV has a clear vision to produce international content combined with a strong Nordic storytelling tradition. Having Red Arrow handle three of our successful series will give these titles access to the worldwide audiences we’re wanting to reach,” says Yellow’s CEO Olli Haikka.

“From day one Rodrigo and his team have been incredibly supportive and passionate about these titles. We anticipate our content reaching new heights on the global stage with them,” says Riku Riihilahti, Head of Sales at Yellow.
