Showtime has announced that ground-breaking political docuseries The Circus, produced by Left/Right, will return for a fifth season in January 2020.

Hosted by John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, and Alex Wagner, The Circus Season Four, which averaged more than one million weekly viewers, had its season finale last night, examining the uncharted waters that lie ahead for President Trump, members of Congress and 2020 presidential candidates as the impeachment inquiry in Washington enters a phase of high-stakes public hearings.

The Circus is produced by Left/Right, with John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, Alex Wagner, Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman, Ted Bourne, and Tom Johnson serving as executive producers.

Left/Right, co-founded by Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver, are the award-winning producers of current New York Times series The Weekly for FX and Hulu, acclaimed docuseries including This American Life for Showtime, and multiple episodes of Frontline for PBS.
