Studio71 UK has announced the launch of The Model Podcast, in collaboration with Europe’s most established modelling agency, Models 1.

Hosted by Robyn Bright, model, presenter turned International Scout at Models 1, the podcast series delves into the lives, careers and opinions of some of the world’s most established and most important players in modelling and fashion including Yasmin Le Bon, Iskra Lawrence, Caroline Rush, Fenn O’Meally and many more.

The weekly series sees Bright and her esteemed guests explore the fashion industry’s key challenges, from diversity and representation, through to safeguarding models and the need for creativity in a globalised industry. Through conversations with a variety of guests, including photographers and filmmakers, models, agency heads, stylists, fashion label owners and journalists, the podcast will explore the rich history of the fashion industry, how it’s evolved and where it’s headed.

The Model Podcast is the first podcast of its kind created in partnership with an established modelling agency. Through the long-held connections of Models 1 with fashion’s key players, innovators and creators, the series will hope to offer a unique insight into one of the most influential industries in a candid and intimate setting.

The first three episodes will launch on Friday September 13, 2019 to coincide with London Fashion Week. Initial guests will include British supermodel Yasmin Le Bon whose career spans three decades, along with model, activist and entrepreneur Iskra Lawrence and lastly, Head of the British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush. This will be followed up with an episode produced at LFW, featuring the season’s new faces, and will be followed weekly with a new episode.

The Model Podcast is the ninth podcast produced by Studio71 UK, and completes a roster that explores comedy, food, health and wellness, sex and relationships and business with some of the UK’s top talent. This new podcast follows the success of ‘Power Hour’ with wellness professional Adrienne Herbert and ‘F**ks Given’ with YouTubers Come Curious both of which have downloads in the six digit figures.

“We’re very proud of the podcast we have created with Models 1 and the conversations we have been able to open around the fashion world. The industry is often seen as a hard one to penetrate, but through Models 1’s legacy within the industry, we have been able to get beneath the usual gloss and offer a real insight from the some of the world’s top specialists” – Tom Payne, Content Director of Studio71 UK.

“Model agencies tend to think of a lot of their work as rather run-of-the-mill but, the reality is, for the majority, it is an exciting, fast-moving and global industry that touches every facet of our daily lives. No magazine, retailer, designer or catwalk could exist without professional models. And these professionals, in turn, work exceptionally hard, learning their craft, travelling the world and, always looking their best. This is a truly professional industry which is often misunderstood and, certainly, misrepresented. The Model Podcast opens up the real story of models and the industry that represents them and we are excited to be the first British agency to produce this kind of content” – John Horner, Director Models 1.

The Model Podcast is a Studio71 production, hosted by Robyn Bright and produced by Jack Claramunt. It is executively produced by Tom Payne, Jody Smith and Jess Crabbe.
