Channel 4 in the UK has acquired more episodes of Married at First Sight Australia from Red Arrow Studios International.

Season 5 has been picked up by the broadcaster, for a series premiere on August 10 on E4.

After acquiring Season 4 earlier this year, the show has proved a huge success for E4, leading to the Season 5 pick-up.

Following the same format as the fourth series, the fifth season of Married at First Sight Australia promises even more drama and surprises awaiting down under. Fans will see 11 female contestants matched with their ‘perfect’ male partner, brought together by expert matchmakers – relationship psychologist John Aiken, neuropsychotherapist Trisha Stratford, and dating expert and psychologist Mel Schilling.

The singles will marry a stranger who they will meet for the first time at the wedding ceremony. Their relationships will be put to the test as we see them marry, go on honeymoon, live together, meet the in-laws and decide if they will stay married or go their separate ways.

Married at First Sight Australia is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Nine Network. The Married at First Sight format was created by Snowman Productions for DR Denmark, and is distributed worldwide by Red Arrow Studios International. Channel 4’s UK version of Married at First Sight is produced by CPL Productions.

Married at First Sight Australia will air for 32 episodes on E4 from August 10 at 7.30pm.
