Sky One in the UK has recommissioned CPL Productions to produce a second season of celebrity panel show There’s Something About Movies, hosted by Alan Carr.

In the show, Alan Carr invites some of the UK’s favourite actors and comics to test their film trivia and blockbuster knowledge on-screen.

Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) will put her film knowledge to the ultimate test as she takes on the role of team captain in the second series of the show, joined by fellow team captain Michael Sheen (Good Omens, The Good Fight).

The new series will film throughout September and will air on Sky One and NOW TV this autumn.

Guests last series included Rafe Spall, Lily Collins, Rupert Everett, Jason Isaacs and Miranda Richardson.

There’s Something About Movies was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Head of Sky Entertainment. The commissioning editor for Sky is Barbara Lee and the executive producers for CPL are David Taylor, Murray Boland and Danielle Lux.

Also for Sky, CPL’s A League of Their Own recently won it second BAFTA Award in the Comedy Entertainment category, and returned to Sky for its 14th season on August 15. CPL also produce The Reluctant Landlord for Sky starring Romesh Ranganathan, which has also been recommissioned for a second season.
