LONDON: February 5, 2020. Acclaimed UK scripted company Endor Productions, a Red Arrow Studios company, has announced that Sara Johnson, previously VP of Scripted at Fox Networks Group, Europe & Africa, is joining as Creative Director. 

Endor Productions, led by Managing Director Hilary Bevan Jones, is a premium producer of scripted television for all major networks, including recent series Vienna Blood for ORF and ZDF, and acquired by the BBC and PBS; two seasons of Matthew Parkhill’s Deep State for Fox Networks Group; and forthcoming BBC One drama But When We Dance. 

Sara Johnson was previously VP of Scripted at Fox Networks Group, Europe & Africa, where she was brought in to head up their new Originals slate, and oversee production, development and drama commissioning within the business. She acted as commissioner and Exec Producer on Deep State and Canal+ co-commissioned series War of The Worlds. Other roles have included Executive Producer & Head of Co-Production, Scripted at Keshet Productions UK (The A Word); Head of Development/Executive Producer at La Plante Productions (Above Suspicion); and Commissioning Editor, Drama & Comedy for BskyB and Sky One (Mile High, Hex).

Endor’s team also includes Ian McBain, who joined the company in 2015 and was recently promoted to Finance Director; Samantha White, who joined for William Boyd’s Restless in 2012 and is now in-house Production Manager; Eamon Fitzpatrick (Head of Production);  Jez Swimer (Producer);  Charlie Niel (Development Executive); and Kyra Williams (Executive Assistant).

Vienna Blood – a series commissioned by ORF Austria and ZDF Germany in co-production with MR Film, and written by acclaimed screenwriter Steve Thompson based on the best-selling Liebermann novels by Frank Tallis. The series stars Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer, and premiered on BBC Two in November 2019, ORF in December 2019 and PBS in January 2020.

Other series include: Restless, written by William Boyd and starring Hayley Atwell, Rufus Sewell and Charlotte Rampling; The Escape Artist, a legal thriller written by David Wolstencroft and starring David Tennant, Toby Kebbell, and Sophie Okonedo; That Day We Sang written and directed by Victoria Wood, with the accompanying documentary That Musical We Made, both starring Imelda Staunton and Michael Ball for BBC Two; and Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot starring Dustin Hoffman, Dame Judi Dench and James Corden, which had an audience of 6.5 million viewers on BBC One on New Year’s Day.
