PRESS RELEASE: RED ARROW STUDIOS INTERNATIONAL LAUNCHES LANDMARK NEW DRAMA “VIENNA BLOOD” AT MIPTV

Red Arrow Studios International is launching its thrilling new crime drama series “Vienna Blood” (3 x 90’ or 6 x 45’) at MIPTV.

From acclaimed screenwriter Steve Thompson (“Deep State”, “Jericho”, “Sherlock”), and directed by Academy Award® and Emmy® nominee Robert Dornhelm (“Anne Frank: The Whole Story”) and Umut Dag (“Cracks in Concrete”), the series is filmed in English and on location in Vienna. It stars Matthew Beard (“The Imitation Game”, “And When Did You Last See Your Father?”) as Max Liebermann, and Juergen Maurer (“Vorstadtweiber”, “Tatort”) as Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt.

Vienna Blood is set in 1900s Vienna, a hot bed of philosophy, science and art, where a clash of cultures and ideas collide in the city’s grand cafes and opera houses. Max Liebermann is a brilliant young English student of famed psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. When Max comes into contact with Oskar Rheinhardt, a Detective Inspector struggling with a strange case, he agrees to help him investigate a series of unusual and disturbing murders. Max’s extraordinary skills of perception and forensics, and his deep understanding of human behaviour and deviance, lead them to them solving some of Vienna’s most mysterious and deadly cases.

Vienna Blood is produced by Endor Productions and MR Film in co-production with Red Arrow Studios International, ZDF Germany and ORF (Austria), with the assistance of Televisionfund Austria, TV-Filmfund Vienna and Niederoesterreich Kultur.
